Upon finding out that her best friend Deke is in a desperate situation and in dire need of rescue, she races back into town to help, only to be arrested with Deke after wrecking her motorcycle and sentenced to several days in a very unpleasant detention center. With a wrecked motorcycle, the possibility of getting fired, and the weight of how she is going to pay her rent on her mind, the detention transport begins to take them back to the nearby city of Shiba. But something frightening appears in the woods as they are riding back that only Risu sees, something that can’t possibly be from her world. With her best friend Deke, a handsome Dreth Racer named Kover, who she met on the transport drone to lock-up and whatever came out of that hole, begins a journey that will not just change the course of her life, but will be the source of unlimited possibilities.

I love the story. Some of the editing was a bit rough and the placement of the conversations could be a bit confusing. But all in all very fun. I can't wait for the next one to find out what happens next!
I enjoyed this book. I'm Not normally a science fiction reader but this book sucked me in and left me wanting more. There were times I didn't want to put it down.
I liked this book better after I got into it. It was not what I typically read, but I am glad that I hung in there. In the beginning some sentences were a bit long. That seemed to get better as the book progressed. I think that this book would appeal to both men or women of the young adult age group. It held my interest well and I was sorry that it ended so soon. Hope that the next one comes out soon. C.R.

This book is exciting, engaging and a breath of fresh air. The only caution I would give is if you don't like cliff hangers wait till the series is complete! Can't wait for the next book in the series.
